Chiropractors give estimates mostly to cash-pay patients, to people comparing care plans, and to those without coverage for chiropractic. A patient typically wants to know the cost of the first visit, how many visits are expected, and the total for the treatment plan.
When to use estimates: Use estimates to provide project quotes and get client approval before starting work. Once approved, convert your estimate to an invoice with one click to collect payment.

Clarify whether the exam, X-rays, and first adjustment are bundled or priced separately so there is no surprise on day one.
Care plans are estimates based on the exam. Stating a range such as 12 to 16 visits over 8 weeks sets expectations and allows for changes.
List which modalities, massage, or decompression sessions are in the price and which cost extra.
X-rays done in-office may be included, but MRI or outside imaging is billed by another provider and should be called out.
Braces, orthotics, and supplements are optional purchases and should be shown separately from treatment.
Progress exams may be charged separately, and the plan may change if the patient does not respond as expected.
Patients often ask what happens if they stop early. Put refund or credit terms in the quote.
| Service | Priced | Typical range |
|---|---|---|
| New patient exam and consultation | per visit | $75-250 |
| Chiropractic adjustment (established patient) | per visit | $45-100 |
| X-rays (per region, 2-3 views) | per region | $50-150 |
| Spinal decompression therapy | per session | $50-150 |
| Therapeutic massage or soft tissue work | per 30 minutes | $40-85 |
| Electrical stimulation, ultrasound, or cold laser | per session | $20-75 |
| Prepaid care plan (10-12 adjustments) | per package | $350-900 |
| Monthly wellness membership | per month | $60-150 |
Typical US ranges. Rates vary by region, experience, and job size.
Listing the single-visit rate beside the package price makes the savings clear and helps patients choose a plan they can finish.
Treatment depends on the patient's response. Present the number of visits as an expected range, not a guarantee of outcome, and avoid language that promises results.
Splitting a package into monthly payments lowers the barrier to starting care. Put the due dates in the quote.
Quote the new patient exam first, then give a full plan after findings are known. This avoids quoting care you may not recommend.
You can quote the exam and any X-rays, but the treatment plan should wait until you have evaluated the patient. Tell them a full estimate will follow the exam.
Only if you have verified benefits. Otherwise state the full fee and say the patient's out-of-pocket cost depends on their plan, then follow up once benefits are checked.
For care plans, 30 days is common. Fees may change, and a patient's condition may be different if they wait longer to begin.
Re-evaluate, explain the reason, and give an updated written estimate before continuing. Ask for the patient's agreement to the new plan and price.
