Makeup artists send quotes when a client inquires about a wedding, event, photoshoot, or production, usually before a date is held. Clients compare the per-person price, what is included, travel charges, and how much of the day you stay. A clear quote also tells them what they need to do to secure the booking.
When to use estimates: Use estimates to provide project quotes and get client approval before starting work. Once approved, convert your estimate to an invoice with one click to collect payment.

Pricing depends on the day, the hour, and the distance. Holding the quote to a specific date and address avoids surprises if the venue changes.
The number of people is the biggest factor in total price and in how many hours or assistants you need.
State whether lashes, airbrush, skin prep, and a touch-up kit are included or extra so clients do not assume they are covered.
Specify whether a trial is included, how long it lasts, and where it takes place, so the client understands what the package covers.
These charges often change the total by $50-200. Listing them upfront prevents sticker shock on the final invoice.
Clients often assume you will remain through photos or the ceremony. Define whether that is included and how it is billed if extended.
The quote should show how to hold the date and what happens if plans change, which protects you from losing an entire day of income.

Typical US ranges. Rates vary by region, experience, and job size.
Bundle the trial, wedding-day application, and a bridal party rate into two or three packages. Clients find it easier to choose between options, and you avoid pricing every service individually.
A bridal party of six can take four hours or more, plus setup and travel. Calculate what the day would earn you and set the total accordingly, rather than only multiplying per-person prices.
When the party is too big for one artist to finish on time, quote a second artist and show the cost. It keeps the schedule realistic and explains why the total is higher.
Wedding dates fill quickly and your rates may change. A quote that is valid for 7 to 14 days encourages a decision and keeps your calendar from being held indefinitely.
Give both. Show the per-person rate for each service and a total for the headcount at that time. If the number of people changes, the client can see how the price adjusts.
Quotes are generally free. A brief consultation call is often free too. A full trial is a paid service because it takes real time and product, though some artists credit it toward the booking.
Rather than lowering your rate, adjust the scope. Remove airbrush, shorten the touch-up time, or reduce the number of services. This keeps your pricing consistent with past clients.
Seven to fourteen days is typical for event work, and it should state that the date is not held until the deposit is paid. For busy seasons like spring and fall wedding months, a shorter window is reasonable.
